International rowing champion Dittymol Varghese and chess grandmaster S L Narayanan have won the G V Raja Award instituted by the State Sports Council in the female and male categories respectively. The award comprises a certificate, a plaque and a purse of Rs 3 lakh each.

Former national coach P R Purushothaman has been selected for the Olympian Suresh Babu Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award. He will be presented with a plaque, a certificate and cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. P B Jaykumar is the best sports trainer.

He will get a cash prize of Rs 100,000, a plaque and a certificate

Best physical education teacher, college: Ashish Joseph (St.Thomas College, Pala — Rs. 50,000).

Best physical education teacher, school: Manu Joseph (Calvary Mount, Idukki — Rs. 50, 000).

Best College: Assumption College, Changanassery (Rs. 50,000).

Best School: Mar Basil HSS, Kothamangalam (Rs. 50,000).

Best sports journalist (print): D. Shyam Prasad (Kerala Kaumudi — Rs 25,000). Best journalist visual media: Joby George (Asianet — Rs 25,000).

Best Photographer: V.V. Sujith (Deshabhimani — Rs 25,000).
