Lyricist and director Sreekumaran Thampi has been selected for the J.C. Daniel Award 2017.

 Sreekumaran Thampi is the 25th recipient of the state's highest film honour. 

 Sreekumaran Thampi is a lyricist, director, producer, and screenwriter in Malayalam cinema.



The award was announced by culture minister A.K. Balan. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, citation and a plaque.

  Sreekumaran Thampi was selected by a jury headed by actor Madhu, a former recipient.
