Former Supreme Court judge Balbir Singh Chauhan (66) was appointed Chairman of the 21st Law Commission of India. He was Supreme Court justice from 2009 to 2014.
Justice Chauhan is currently heading the Cauvery River Water Disputes Tribunal.
He also served as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court from 2008 to 2009.
