Veteran Malayalam film director, script writer, and producer. Adoor Gopalakrishnan selected for 2016 J. C. Daniel Award for his contribution towards Malayalam film industry.
The J. C. Daniel Award is Kerala's highest award in Malayalam cinema. It is presented annually by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, a non-profit institution under the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Kerala, India.
The award was first presented to film distributor and producer T. E. Vasudevan in 1992.
The award comprises of a cash price Rs. 1 Lakh, certificate, and trophy.
