Legendary Shehnai exponent Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan(77) passed away on 16th March in Kolkata. He was suffering from kidney-related problems and was hospitalized.
He was born in 1939 in Kolkata. Doordarshan's signature tune was played for the first time in 1973, by Ustad Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan on the shehnai.
