Urjit Patel to succeed Raghuram Rajan as new governor.
Patel will assume office as the 24th RBI governor for three years on September 5, a day after Rajan’s term ends.
Urjit Patel has been the RBI deputy governor since January 2013.
He has an M.Phil from Oxford University, and a PhD (economics) from Yale University.
