Lt Gen NPS Hira has been appointed Deputy Chief of the Indian Army. He is presently serving as Chief of Staff of Northern Command at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lt Gen NPS Hira is from the Sikh Light Infantry. He has commanded the Jallandhar-based 11 Corps ‘Defenders of Punjab’.
He has earned an Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra and many more gallantry awards.
