International rowing champion Dittymol Varghese and chess grandmaster S L Narayanan have won the G V Raja Award instituted by the State Sports Council in the female and male categories respectively. The award comprises a certificate, a plaque and a purse of Rs 3 lakh each.
Former national coach P R Purushothaman has been selected for the Olympian Suresh Babu Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award. He will be presented with a plaque, a certificate and cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. P B Jaykumar is the best sports trainer.
He will get a cash prize of Rs 100,000, a plaque and a certificate
