M. R. Rajagopal, MD, (born 23 September 1947) is an Indian palliative care physician.
He is the founder chairman of Pallium India, a palliative care non-governmental organisation based in Kozhikode in Kerala.
It is India's first palliative care unit.
He is often referred to as the 'father of palliative care in India' in honour of his significant contribution to the palliative care scene in India. Palliative care is a pain relief process for people suffering from terminal illnesses.
A documentary film based on Dr M R Rajagopal's life, titled 'Hippocratic: 18 Experiments in Gently Shaking the World' was released by Moonshine Agency, Australia, on World Palliative Care Day, October 14 2017.
He is also one of the physicians globally recognised for his safe anesthesiology procedures and is ranked among the top 30 anesthesiologists globally.
